Jen Edwards is a self-directed creative who has worked in the arts for more than 15 years. In the early 2000’s after dropping out of college, she began a series of apprenticeships and hands-on experiments that would allow her to further her artistic development, as well as share those lessons with others.
She apprenticed with Classical Glass in Over-the-Rhine, and co-founded two short-lived galleries there: Main Street Gallery and Krafthaus, which featured accessible art for purchase and operated for several years.
Edwards is a founding member of the Bombshells of Cincinnati, a collaborative group of fiber artists that create public yarn graffiti projects. They have exhibited at arts institutions such as the Cincinnati Art Museum and the Contemporary Arts Center, and have also created immersive installations that take over large swaths of public space.
Always up for a new challenge, Edwards has produced videos for the 48-Hour Film Project, and served as guest artist for local arts organizations like ArtWorks and Visionaries + Voices.
Her most recent body of work, “A Loaded Conversation,” marries her fiber art practice with her interest for firearms. As the title implies, Jen Edwards enjoys genuine conversation and making things.
Edwards currently works as an art instructor at Cincinnati Arts and Technology Center and she wishes she could just have a conversation with you about art over a cocktail.
